BACHELOR'S STUDIES IN NURSING AND HEALTH TECHNOLOGIES

Nursing, vocation for the care of life

It is not possible to think about the life and health of human beings without the existence of a nursing professional.

According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), nurses often work in precarious conditions, with low remuneration and little professional recognition.

Nursing is part of the health sciences and covers care for people of all ages, families, groups and communities, sick or not, and in all circumstances.

They are always in the front row in any situation that involves a fight for life, whether it is the birth of a baby, caring for the sick or injured, or the terminal condition of a person; even in health prevention tasks.

Currently there are nearly 28 million nurses in the world, who represent more than half of the medical care personnel; However, experts warn that to achieve the dreamed-of universal health coverage, that figure needs to be increased by nine million.

Honorable are the nurses for whom providing health, preventing, curing, accompanying, is a creed they choose by vocation.

The essential functions of the nursing profession are fostering a safe environment, advocating for people, participating in health policy, managing patient care, of health systems, research and improvement.
