RYTIDECTOMY FACIAL REJUVENATION
Rhytidectomy is nothing more than a facelift, a stretch of the skin of the face to eliminate wrinkles and the effects of skin flaccidity.

The facelift consists of a surgical intervention, where excess of body fat is extracted, causing a much younger appearance. Facelift can be done in combination with other surgeries such as eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), nose surgery (rhinoplasty).
A rhytidectomy usually takes two hours or more if the person is undergoing more procedures. Surgeons separate the skin from the fat and underlying muscle, which can be suctioned from the chin and around the neck. Then they squeeze the muscle and the underlying membrane, pull the skin and remove the excess. They secure the tissue layers and close the incisions.
Once the surgery is complete, a small thin tube can be placed under the skin (behind the ear) to drain any accumulation of blood. Bandages may also be placed to minimize bruising and inflammation.
Facial rhytidectomy is the technique to improve the sagging of the cheeks and neck that has been produced by the same reasons (age, weight change ...). Incisions are made in front and behind the ears, drying out the excess skin and returning the muscle and subcutaneous tissue to its site.
To improve the middle and lower thirds, Ritidectomy or Lower Lifting is practiced. The skin of the cheek and neck is detached in its entirety, tracing the skin and muscles (Musculoaponeurotic System of the neck), to return to its site the structures that have descended with the passage of time. The result is a scar that can hardly be seen, since it is located in the pre-auricular (in front of the ear) and post-auricular (behind the ear) regions.
The post-operative period of this operation is smooth. It must be explained that surgical interventions on the face are not painful, but visible. Only for this reason a post-operative period of about 15 to 20 days is required, after which the patient resumes normal activity.
