Health insurance for students in Cuba

Purchased from the health insurance provider ASISTUR, which can be purchased before or during the week after arrival in Cuba.

If the student has one, he/she can bring it and ASISTUR will determine if it is valid and/or compatible with the ones it offers.

To acquire the health insurance established by Cuban state law, the cost must be coordinated with the company ASISTUR, through the website: http://www.asistur.cu/. It must be coordinated with the company ASISTUR if health insurance that students have in the country of origin is accepted.

The price of these insurances depends on age, sex, illnesses, etc.

There are health insurance policies purchased in the country of origin or in other countries that are comparable with ASISTUR insurance, the only entity authorized to determine whether they are approved or not.

In all cases, upon arrival in Cuba, the student must immediately go to the University of Medical Sciences that accepted him/her for the International Health Control, which is mandatory, for approximately 10 days.
