The National Center for Minimum Access Surgery of Cuba is the national reference center dedicated to endoscopic therapeutics and minimally invasive surgery. It also constitutes the Postgraduate Education Institution of the University of Medical Sciences of Cuba, dedicated to the training, training and certification of national and foreign medical specialists in the domain of the basic and advanced techniques of minimal access surgery, is a Science and Technological Innovation Unit in charge of the preparation and execution of research projects and/or controlled studies for the evaluation of technologies and patents in the field of endoscopic surgery. It offers services in the specialties of General and Digestive Surgery, Therapeutic Digestive Endoscopy, Urology, Gynecology, Otorhinolaryngology, Neurosurgery and Interventional Radiology of the Biliary Tract.

It was founded in 1994, at the "General Calixto García" University Hospital and brings together a group of high-level scientific specialists, who consolidate more than 20 years of professional experience. As the governing center, it carries out a scientific and planned policy for the generalization of Minimum Access Surgery throughout the country.
